The Find tab contains selectors for Find options, so if the default
isn't what you want, the mouse is sorely tempting - so much so, I
don't know how to change the options from the minibuffer. If you're
not supposed to change the patterns in the FInd panel, then perhaps
the find and replace fields should be read only. Otherwise, if one
does type in those fields, it would be nice for the Ctrl-f and Ctrl-
shift-r keys to be bound (they work after selecting the Find tab, but
not after typing in Find or Change fields). In general, the key
binding within the Find tab could use enhancement in both GUIs - some
Alt sequences work within the panel, some go to the top menu,
others ?
For newbies, it would be nice to mention the control sequences for
search/replace within the find panel, in addition to it actually
working (the bindings do work so long as you don't move focus to the
Find/Change fields).
As a further wishlist item, if I use the mouse to put focus in the
minibuffer and there is not already a "full-command: " being prompted
for (e.g., status is "Insert State"), I'd like it to be the same as
typing Alt-x - by which I mean prompting for a full-command, not
toggling the Regexp checkbox ;-).
I haven't exhaustively tested the claims above in both GUIs, so they
may be more accurate in one or the other.
