It seems vim.py was in almost-working condition all the time. Earlier, I changed the way how c.openWith launches processes (it has to have shell=True to look at path), changed it to use gvim instead of vim by default (can't count on having console session), and removed bad settings from leoSettings.leo.
It works by enabling vim.py and double-clicking on the icon. The biggest difference to current "Edit in gvim" from rclick menu is that it reuses the same gvim process/window. -- Ville M.
