This seems to be due to something in pyreadline, if I remove it, I don't get the extra space after each character, (of course, I lose syntax coloring)..
Pyreadline stable is at version 1.5, and that is the only one with built '.exe' installer. I need to go back through versions and find where this bug slipped back in. Is there a command to set things up from each version I download? Tom
