Once I get on the bug-fixing rampage it's hard to stop :-) The trunk
now contains a complete refactoring of write_Leo_file. This is
anything but a minor change. If there are problems the next release
will be b2 instead of rc1.

Please report any problems immediately.

So this is risky, but it's just unbearable not to fix bugs that were
reported over a year ago. And to fix the bug that erases an existing
leo.bak file it seemed necessary actually to understand the code.
That was impossible with the old code.

BTW, the refactoring shows, imo, just how dangerous literate
programming sections can be. The new code uses 5 or 6 self-contained
helper functions. There may be some short-term pain, but the new code
is *much* better than the old.
