Copypasting a node that contains non-ASCII doesn't break the body content anymore. I've just synced the trunk and tested the trivial workflow suggested by Terry for both Qt and Tk GUIs. r2742 definitely improved the situation with recent unicode problems, at least for my particular scenario.
