More importantly, the "until" branch has provided a safe environment
for experimentation. Several of today's bug fixes started in the
until branch, and then moved to the trunk when I saw that the changes
were safe. The overhead of moving code to trunk does not matter.
What matters was that I could go into action safely in the until
branch. I consider this an important improvement to the pre-release
work flow.
