I don't think it's difficult, in fact I'm almost there. I stalled waiting for docutils-devel or -users mailing lists to help me add contents to an already parsed doctree (internal rst representation). But that's not actually needed for the user guide integration. Well, maybe not, oddly enough one of the formats the docutils system doesn't support, for *output*, is rst. This is being discussed currently on their lists. Short answer, I'll look at getting at least a link to the generated plugins docs in the main user guide ASAP.
