That's the paragraph symbol?, probably not the best choice, it is often used to indicate the eol character(s). The scheme I'm thinking of needs four character, a placeholder for a required parameter, one for an optional parameter, and a set of open/ close delimiters. I've found a set that should work, a unfilled square, a doubled downward facing open bracket, and matching "french quotes." I'll nail down their ordinal positions and ask someone running Linux to see if their the same on that platform.
