I was trying to start Leo on a Fedora 12 machine, and it was very briefly throwing up its first window, then python crashed with "Segmentation fault". Running under gdb, usually the stack corruption obscured the ultimate cause of the problem, but on one occasion, I was able to see that aspell was trying to disable itself, and, looking at the the "rpm -qa | grep aspell" output, I noted that no languages were installed. Sure enough, the problem stopped when I installed aspell- en. FYI.
