The strategic question is how much detail to include in the discussion of references. Surely, the details must be discussed somewhere, either in the slideshow or in the tutorial, or both. The basic problem is that expansion is so much easier to use than to describe fully. Hmm. Maybe that would be the best strategy: describe by example...
