The workaround today is the same as it has been for several years, namely to define bindings that work for your particular keyboard. I suppose I could create a suggested set of MacOs bindings, tested on a standard iMac keyboard. It would be better, however, if somebody who actually uses MacOs would create the bindings: they would be better tested. At present, I don't plan to do anything more about this until after 4.8 final, but I could change my mind.
