Some time ago I noticed that Ctrl-s sometimes failed to save my file.
Today I investigated a little and found the following. Is this a
bug? A feature? A no-fix?

I did my investigation under Ubuntu 10.10 using the latest Leo-editor
source from Launchpad.

QT gui:

Shortcuts don't work when the cursor is in the Find, Nav, and Bindings
panes.

Shortcuts do work when the cursor is in the Log pane.

Tk gui:

Shortcuts do not work when the cursor is in the Find pane.
Shortcuts do work when the Find pane has the focus, but the cursor is
not displayed.

Shortcuts do work when the cursor is in the Log pane.

Using the Tk gui, a pane (tab) can have the focus without the cursor
being in the pane (tab). This can be done in several ways. For
example, by clicking on a tab.

But using the Qt gui, a cursor is always displayed, so that it is
impossible for a pane (tab) to have focus without a cursor displayed
in the pane (tab).
