Perhaps Ville's skepticism about super-lint is justified. We shall see. When I awoke this morning I saw a way to "get real" about this controversy in a matter of hours, or days at most. It should be easy to create a script, say py2cy.py, that will translate (or rather hack) Python sources into Cython sources. This will quickly show where the rough spots are. There is little point in continuing the Python-to-Cython part of super- lint until this feasibility check passes. Conversely, if py2cy.py does succeed, it will provide a road map for further development.
