Thanks for this.  The code is now on the trunk at rev 4089.

The new code changes the reformat-paragraph command, so several unit
tests failed.  This was expected, and I merely copied the "work" text
to the "expected" text to make them work again.  Thus, the changed
unit tests are simply a test that reformat-paragraph uses the new code
;-)
