> net use B: \\localhost\c$\users\%username%\dropbox The one feature of the Amiga I really miss, daily, is the ability to "assign foo:" to any path whatsoever, and have it available to all programs and shell prompts as "foo:/path/to/something" instead of the horrendous "C:\Documents and Settings\Matt\My Cool Stuff\FooBar\v2\Path\To\Something".
Along the same lines, removable media were available using their volume label, e.g. Blender_Disc2:, so one didn't need to know if it was in the CD drive, the DVD writer, a USB device, or .... (to use modern analogues. They were floppy disks back then of course!) c.f. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AmigaOS#Handlers.2C_AmigaDOS_and_filesystems scan for "assign". I don't understand why even linux never picked up on this idea, it's just so *good*. ok, off topic outburst over. ;-) -- -matt -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "leo-editor" group.
