In Linux at least, @url file:///path/to/MyCV.docx does what you'd
expect (opens MyCV.docx in OpenOffice).  I think it relies on
`xdg-open`.

It doesn't go further with parameters in child nodes though.  Some use
cases might clarify how that would be used.

The potential downsides for this approach have been discussed regularly
on the inkscape dev. mailing list.  Biggest I think is the concern that
people feel less inclined to do things for free when others are being
paid to do the same thing.  Not saying that that would be the case,
just that that would be a concern.  Also I think it would be a ton of
work to manage.

I suppose you could try such a thing as an experiment on one of the
sites you mention just setting a bounty on a particular feature to see
what happens.
