The number (Remove *1*) tells you how many panes will be removed, so if the numbers greater than 1, again try a different divider, they're nested, so it takes a little getting used to. If you remove essential panes like the tree, body, and log, they're stuck into the tabbed (usually called log) pane. Usually changing node by any of the normal methods does this, unless you've issued a `viewrendered-lock-toggle` Alt-X command.
