The entire talk, including its subject, is a reflection of those conversations. We are, in effect, seeing a distillation of these conversations by someone both bright and wise. Two places of particular interest to me: 1. At 28 minutes, or just after, he talks about static type analysis as one of the most interesting research projects. I got some ideas. 2. At about 58 minutes, he mentions that import hooks can allow mostly- transparent translation from a python-like language into Python. An intriguing idea...
