Yes.  The editor has nothing to do with the format of external files.

Use @auto, @nosent or @shadow to write external files without sentinels.

Here again, using the rst3 command helps.  Even assuming that the @rest
code is in an external file (as is the case in LeoDocs.leo) the sentinels
in the external file do not matter because the rst3 command creates another
file (without sentinels) containing the rST.
