For years I have been saying that clones can create multiple views of
data. That's true, but today I realized that that "story" is misleading.
In fact, I use clones simply as a way of accelerating my work flow!

I do indeed clone nodes and drag them at or near the top level, where I can
get at them easily. So you *could* say that this creates a new view of the
data. But this is misleading, for several reasons:

- I'm not really so interested in a new view. I really just want to get my
hands on the relevant nodes quickly.

- When I'm done with the clones, I simply delete them. In fact, there are
disadvantages to keeping old "views" around: they "clog up" finds, and they
can cause clone conflicts on loads. So I typically just keep a few clones
around.

In fact, the way I use clones, their advantages all revolve around work
flow:

- The originals never move, so the source files don't change (except when I
change the contents of the clones!)

- There is nothing to "put back in place" when I am done. Deleting the
"work" clones is all that is needed.

Amazing.
