This should be fixed for 4.11 final. According to the bzr logs, rev 6107 claimed to be responsible. The only substantial change was the "isPlain" logic in selfInsertCommand, in leoEditCommands.py. I'll attempt a fix today, but this will be mostly guesswork--I'll need help verifying that various keyboards work correctly.
