My present plan for the new find is to have Ctrl-F put focus in the "Find" text box in the Find Panel. In other words, the minibuffer-find will be for experts only. Now you type the find text. Next, you type tab, which puts you in the "Replace" text box. Tab is a standard way of navigating between gui elements. I'll discuss this in the revised tutorial. Next, you either type replacement text, or you use tab to navigate to one of the buttons and push enter. Or you can use either the F3 or F2 key to start the search. Naturally, you should be able to avoid the keyboard entirely by using the mouse. Oh, the irony! There is a bit of work to do before this all works. I hope to have something ready today. First, though, I have to detour to fix an abbreviations botch that I recently introduced. It's horrible to search for <| pattern |> automatically when an abbreviation fires! Only ,, should ever do that. I expect the fix will be easy, but it must be done however hard it is.
