In the tutorial 'Programming with Leo', I stumbled over

*Essential Terms*:

   - A *section name* is any text of the form: << any text >>. (>> must not
   appear in “any text”.)
   - A *section definition node* is any node whose headline starts with a
   section name.
   - A *section reference* is a section name that appears in body text.

No problem with these definitions. But these terms made me ask: 'But what
is a *section* in the first place?'

Is it any subtree? Is it only the subtree under a section definition node?
I'm thinking of something along the following lines:

"A *section* is a subtree of an outline that is identified by a special
name, the so called *section name*, and consiste of the so called *section
definition node* and all its subnodes."
