I often experience similar problems, and I also always use the mouse. My feeling is that it doesnt "reset the search" when the find command is issued throug the GUI, then you hit "search next" and it still uses the previous search. Many times I get "no found" when the text clearly is where im searching for it. Sorry for the vagueness, I will try to find and report the exact behaviour soon.
