Now they do, on both Windows and Ubuntu. Running all unit tests externally is fast: about 6 seconds on my fast Ubuntu machine. One concession: all the tests of @auto-rst are skipped when running externally. These are fantastically complex tests of way-too-complex code that alters the outline. I'm not thrilled with disabling these tests, but I'm not going to delay further work to find the reason why they fail.
