BTW, after I wrote my original post in this thread, I realized that if we wanted to be bold (foolhardy?) we could execute the entire @file before doing completions there. Which reminds me of yet another idea: the notion of a "preferred" context for a cloned node, namely the "nearest" @file node containing any clone of that node. The idea is that Leo could use the preferred tree to determine more-or-less invariant directives so that that cloning a node and moving it out of its (preferred) @file node would not change the directives in effect for that node.
