After much consideration, @auto or @shadow will remain, in deprecated form, in the 5.1 release. It's possible that support for @auto will be withdrawn in 5.2, but that is a question for another time.
In Leo 5.1, @auto or @shadow will exist in a limbo similar to @root. The tutorial will ignore them and the reference will strongly recommend converting either to @nosent. Retaining @auto and @shadow has important advantages. 1. All .leo files will work *exactly* as before, except for @nosent. 2. Users will not be forced to change their outlines or work flow in any way. 3. Leo will not need code that automagically converts @auto or @shadow. Retaining vestigial support for @auto and @shadow means that we are well ahead of schedule for 5.1b1. I expect to release it in just a few days.
