*Executive summary*: Ctrl-G will usually put focus in the body pane even if it does not appear that any Leo widget has focus. This is more effective than hitting Alt-Tab twice.
This morning I solved a mystery that has tormented me for years. Every so often, Leo seems to lose focus, and hitting Alt-Tab twice may not appear to restore focus. What is going on? It turns out that hitting a "bare" Alt key (on Windows) puts focus in the menu bar. There is a *tiny *indication that this is so: the file menu is highlighted, but it does not drop down. Previously, I had tried to force focus by hitting Alt-Tab twice. The first Alt-Tab selects another app. The second Alt-Tab reselects Leo. Sometimes this puts focus in the body pane. Sometimes not. Happily, Ctrl-G almost always does put focus in the body pane. I hadn't thought of using Ctrl-G because focus must indeed be somewhere in Leo for Ctrl-G to work. But that's usually true even if the focus is not apparent. Mystery solved. New recommendation for all users discovered. I'll probably put this in the first tutorial.
