Leo mode for vim ... vim gui Not sure what this looks like, open gvim and it looks like Leo, or open Leo and all vim features are available? Either one sounds daunting.
the neovim project https://github.com/neovim/neovim seeks to ease extensibility. It seems like a problem with outreach is that Leo's power tends to reside in advanced capability, and first impressions are formed by more superficial things. Installation would need to be dead simple across platforms, don't know if this is the case currently. Any issues here will be the end of the review. I just checked vim-open-file, it seems unfinished, with room for improvement. If it maintained cursor position in both directions, and recognized changes upon return to Leo, I think it would go a long way in recruiting vim fans: "Let Leo manage your files and provide you an elevated level of control and customization, while all your current workmethods are a <alt-x> vim-open-file away!"
