Hi All, First time Leo user here, evaluating the product on an Ubuntu system.
I'm a pretty experienced Linux user. I just wanted to try the package, and didn't want to go through the full build from source cycle. So I tried following the main installation instructions for Linux <http://leoeditor.com/installing.html#installing-from-a-debian-package>. I encountered the following errors: $ sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list $ tail -4 /etc/apt/sources.list ## Repositories required for Leo installation: deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/villemvainio/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/villemvainio/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:davy39/ppa $ sudo apt-get install leo Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done E: Unable to locate package leo After some google searches, and finding this group/BB, I came across Davey Cottet's instructions <https://groups.google.com/forum/#%21topic/leo-editor/AwYeds6PSn4>. This time, adding the suggested repository worked. After the update, I ran through a VERY extensive installation (due, no doubt, to all the required Python infrastructure). So... Thanks VERY much, Davey! I know building packages like this takes a lot of work. I suggest that the installation instruction page be updated? Other than that, first impressions are... WOW! This is impressive. I'm mostly looking for the PIM features, but now intend to explore the GUI development environment as well. Very impressive work.
