Ha, I hadn't even thought of the list order that way! Yes I think outline order is more natural. I can't recall ever seeing a chapter list in alphabetical order. My initial reaction was that it looks wrong, and that's because 'chapters' implies an outline order list. Index suggests an alphabetical list.
