Good catch. It's not clear why Leo is printing this message. It happens in g.app.createGui if it is called with g.app.gui already inited. I'm going to add g.callers() to the trace. It might resolve the mystery. As things stood some fonts were not displayed properly. After noticing the > message I uninstalled PyQt5.8 and then installed PyQt5.6.
