Imo, the only sane strategy for early testers is as follows:

1. Before running Leo with --gui=curses, use git stash or git commit until 
git status reports nothing changed.

2. Do a git status after running Leo with --gui=curses.

3. If there are changes, *expected or not*, use git checkout to restore 
everything.
