Yes, this is the best current way to do things, I agree. My suggestion is 
partly based on coming from the Ecco Pro world, where there is no real 
distinction between 'Headlines' and 'Body'.

I still think it would be nice to have something like my suggestion. There 
would be a little puzzle: what to do about cursor position in the Body pane 
as you traverse nodes?

I will take a look and see if I can make something as a demonstrator. Just 
wanted to check that I wasn't missing something pre-existing.
