Not quite sure what you mean.  The free_layout / NestedSplitter
machinery (which I'd like to replace with the QDock layout scheme)
should be able to host any Qt Widget.  But it doesn't *provide* *any*,
graphics pane or anything else.

The graphcanvas.py plugin uses a QGraphicsScene, and co-exists fine
with the free_layout / NestedSplitter machinery.
