Vacation clears the mind from details, so more general thoughts arise. Here they are:
I'd like to be a bit bolder in my plans. Incremental programming improvements, but with more ambitious goals: 1. Make sure that Leo can do everything that org-mode can. 2. Simplify Leo's code. This is surely possible. 3. Add integrated debugging. 4. Better support for Joe Orr's work. These technical goals are not the whole story. I would like to encourage more people to contribute to Leo. This isn't necessarily straightforward. We have to vet and critique proposals without in the processes having people feel that they are personally critiqued.
