Could there actually *be* regrets?  Could this work possibly be wasted?

I don't see how.  However we init settings, surely each setting must be 
represented as an object of some class.

But just now I can't explain why g.GeneralSetting should *have *a dict, or *be 
*a dict.  The simplest thing that could possibly work would seem to be a 
class with a *fixed* set of ivars.  I'll investigate.
