This article
<https://www.americanscientist.org/article/expanding-consciousness>in American
Scientist <https://www.americanscientist.org/magazine/issues/all> magazine
argues persuasively that insects have some form of consciousness. My world
will never again be the same. This article is well worth buying if you are
not a member of Sigma Xi <https://www.sigmaxi.org/about>.

Here is the letter I sent to the two authors:

Dear Profs. Chittka and Wilson,

Many thanks for your superb article in American Scientist. It is the most
astounding paper I have ever read. It is clear, compelling, balanced and
thought provoking.

Imo, it compares favorably with the superb review, "What is consciousness,
and can machines have it?", Science 358, 2017.

Edward
