Definitely no. My boxes are very outdated and are too weak to run VM on
them. They are just typewriters.

Just to tick another box, is your keyboard set for US-EN, or some other
> locale?  After all, we have to find *something* that is different about

If all else fails, I could spin up a KUbuntu/KDE VM and see what happens.
