:-) It should be easier than it sounds. There are tools like lilypond <http://lilypond.org/>and macros like MusiXTEX <https://ctan.org/pkg/musixtex>. As I said, the challenge is finding the easiest pipeline. I hope to help create my music teacher's next book.
About 10 years ago, I used LyX | LyX – The Document Processor <https://www.lyx.org/> for LaTex editing.
