This looks like a bug, but imo the "devel" branch is good enough to release as it is. Perhaps only Thomas wants to switch between VR and VR3 while switching layouts. If necessary, he can submit a small PR to remedy any remaining glitches. It may indeed only be me. I usually have both enabled, usually for testing, or comparison if I suspect that VR3 isn't acting quite right.
