This Engineering Notebook post discusses enhancements to @jupytext that you can make yourself without my permission. There are two tasks you might like help doing: *Create notebook markup for new cells* Leo's abbreviations and @button nodes are the obvious choices. *Hide notebook markup* This task requires a plugin. @jupytext triggers these events: - after-reading-external-file. - before-writing-external-file events. - create-node. I doubt this task is feasible, but these events make the task conceivable. *Summary* The PR provides the necessary tools to enhance your experience of @jupytext. Edward P.S.
