very intuitive. You have to save the shortcuts to a file using the button in the
keyboard tab and they will be there next time you start the program but there's
no message telling you to do that. Actually the entire Preferences dialog is
confusing, some options are saved per file and others are global, which is not
good design.

Oh I see, I didn't realize saving the shortcuts to a file was necessary. I think
it's a nice option if I feel like trying out a new set of shortcuts for a while.
Also, I assumed "OK" would global save Preferences, but I see now it's "Make
default", which is not illogical. No problem.

saving it at all, I'm still not sure if it's better to have it saved per project
or globally. I like saving it globally more but then the camera positions won't
make much sense when loading different files.

Hahaha I see. Similar to Preferences, I would like to be able to save a default
view layout so I wouldn't have to split and add every time...but that's a good
point about the cameras. Could the program load a user-defined default set of
cameras, like my favorite Main + Front + Top? That way the actual camera
positions wouldn't have to be saved globally for all projects, just which
cameras to show views from.
I remember when I played around Maya back in the day, I had a shortcut key for
ortho (front/top/side) views, but if I left it in 4-panel view and closed, when
I brought it up again it would be 4-panel.

was trying to make a generic mirror that would work on any direction/offset. If
I were to try it again I'd just have a function to mirror on only 1 of the X/Y/Z
planes, probably using the new mouse arrows from the last version.

An xyz mirror function would be fine, if someone wanted to mirror on a different
axis they could just work out the simple math and offset/rotate the pieces by
putting in the numbers.

I appreciate your work! I'm not a software engineer myself so I have no idea how
hard is it to do these things, but I imagine it must be pretty difficult and
you've got other main projects on your list. Thanks!
