I checked in a new version of the zoom region tool today, there are a few
situations where it doesn't work well but it's much better than before.

I also looked into the zoom extents calculation, it's just an approximation
and doesn't account for a few things but I think it works well for what it
needs to do, I don't want to spend time trying to get it to be perfect.
