I traced down the Cygwin access-violation-on-startup problem as follows:
1) Rebuilt lesstif-0.93.94 with gcc-3.3.3 (this was previously built and released, and verified to be stable, with gcc-3.3.1). This build encounters the problem.
2) Reverted to an earlier release of binutils for Cygwin, rebuilt lesstif-0.93.94. This build encounters the problem.
3) Reverted to gcc-3.3.1 and rebuilt 0.93.94. This build does not encounter the problem.
Has anyone had success/failure building lesstif versions >= 0.93.94 with gcc 3.3.3? I suspect this is Cygwin specfic, as usual, but I'd like any info that you can give me.
