The LessTif Core Team is pleased to announce Release 0.91.8 of the
LessTif library.

Since the last official release (note that there was
a '0.91.6' release which was not packaged properly and
never announced) we

 - fixed several bugs in the libraries, including critical ones
(i.e. those which could trigger a program crash)
 - removed memory leaks (we are way better than the OSF/Motif 1.2
   releases we tested against!)
 - and enhanced the configuration system (configure, etc.).
LessTif should now work much better on several platforms,
   including Digital Unix/Tru64 and IRIX.

LessTif is a LGPL'd implemention of the OSF/Motif standard GUI toolkit
for X11 on unix. LessTif aims to be source compatible with Motif.
At this point, most of the 1.2 API is working and in place, and most
Motif 1.2 apps compile and run out of the box with LessTif.
The LessTif Core team is interested in hearing about such applications
which don't work with LessTif. Bug reports are welcome; patches are even
more welcome.
Some Motif 2.0/2.1 compatible APIs (and therefore software using them)
are working as well.

More information, source code, and binaries for several platforms are
available at:
