Might be a 64bit issue!
On the very same display (i86linux) both from alpha-linux and DU 
show the same failure (and output) on this test.

Hmm, at least a verbose gcc build of libXm didn't show too much:
we may have <=10 conversions from pointers to int (which is in general a bad
idea on alpha) but I don't think they're at related places.
Most of them are in the LTxpm stuff anyway. If any the problems are
more likely hidden, i.e. not simply missing proper casts.

Can someone else on a alpha (or other 64 bit machine) try these tests?
