configure

I'm getting 

configure.in:333: AC_TRY_COMPILE was called before AC_AIX

now. Does _anyone_ know how to get rid of this?? I've seen it before, on other
projects, and ended up getting rid of AC_AIX to get rid of this. I couldn't
figure out the "magic" order to keep everything happy.
