StarOffice?!

Hmm,
what's StarOffice now. Source is available, but on
  http://www.OpenOffice.org/dev_docs/source/build.html
they don't list any GUI toolkit as mandatory, but JAVA is required.
Did they switch the GUI to Java and use strongly JNI?
