I regularly build many different open-source X/Motif apps, linking
against OpenMotif on some machines, Lesstif on others, and I used to use
Metrolink on one other machine.

It seems to me that almost *everything* with an autoconf or similar
config script bombs against OpenMotif because of '-lXp' not being
linked. I often fix them by hand, case by case - which I admit is a
lazy approach - maybe I ought to submit real config fixes to the app
maintainers. Or maybe I ought to just stick with Lesstif...

Anyway, I can't remember for sure if this was happening with the
Metrolink Motif 2.1 flavour, or not, but I think it was. I don't have
Metrolink 2.1 installed anywhere anymore to check. Maybe it's a Motif
2.1 thing: that you need '-lXp' as well as '-lXm' and the gang.
